Soup is yummy... Good service and great sushi rolls
Some of the best food in town, and impressive sushi options in an unexpected location. I’ve never had a fried tempura roll better than these at Origami! They have ruined me for deep fried sushi rolls anywhere else in the world.
Delicious! Staff are always so helpful and friendly.Sarah the sushi chef is top notch!! A+++++ in my book!Love the atmosphere too.Vegetable tempura is excellent and the Chile Relleno sushi roll... yummy!!
Loved it. The chicken was great and the service was good.
Jennifer and Sonny are great people making delicious sushi. If ordering sushi ask for a "special" roll and let them work their magic.
I had a Korean dish here and it was spot on. Definitely returning.
All of the food (except for the veggie gyozas) has been good. The online ordering through selflane seems to be broken; if you place an order online, call to make sure they actually received your order.
We got take out for the first time ever and it was all amazing!!! The baked rolls are something we have never seen in VA and they were to die for! We also loved the Crunch and Chile Relleno. Thank you for amazing service as well!
Food was really good. We had soup and sushi I wish they had ramen with pork
The food is consistently great, for the most part. The staff is very friendly. It's the safest bet for good food, in my opinion.
The food is great! The menu is amazing!
awesome every time!!! been eating here for years, great menu and amazing staff!!
The price is on the higher side but service is good. And it is really nice to have a Japanese restaurant in a small town. We usually order the dinner combo during dinner and sushi combo during lunch. Lunch menu is a good deal. Their rolls are beautiful and age tofu is the best I have had.
Nigiri and Spicy Tuna Roll Combo is my go to. Sometimes takes a while to come out. Bento boxen (Brian Regan) are good. Beef and chicken teriyaki are good. Korean isn't. Pork is just OK. Vegetable gyoza aren't good.
Kind service and good food. Had vegetable fried rice, which was tasty and plentiful, and chicken yakitori. Also ordered a Yum Yum roll. Food came quickly.
Reliable and usually little to no wait. The dolsotbap is great, as is everything else I've tried here. Most surprisingly good was the "Heart Attack" which I probably should have guessed...
This is a gem of great food and fantastic service. Been going here for years and they always deliver great food. It has evolved a little over the years, possibly with new sushi and primary chefs but still tasty. I recommend the lunch or dinner combos. Bit of and best of everything. 😋
Great Sushi, great service!
Bulgogi over salted and not even close to authentic. Kimchi was way basic and dont eat the spicy seafood udon, the most flavorful part was the udon noodles....no spice over cooked shrimp and the two muscles taste like the broth, (nothing)... cant speak about the sushi, didn't have any. Probably a smart choice. Hate to bash this place but come on people! Korean and Japanese food is supposed to be packed with flavor!
Nice atmosphere, and a wide selection on the menu, including the ubiquitous Korean section, but mostly fusion rolls, with only a small selection of traditional sushi. The service was sadly very slow, with reminders required to keep basic things like water and rea refilled. The jasmine tea was bagged, but the green tea was well prepared, although both were a bit cold- a common problem up here in Los Alamos because of our low boiling point. The rolls we ordered were OK, not great, but the fusion flavors just don't taste quite right...I'll certainly give them another try, next time sampling the traditional items.
Really, really good sushi. Sit at the sushi bar and watch them prepare your meal. Very nice and friendly people making your meals. Highly recommend!
Very good food and the staff was attentive.
Great food and wonderful service
good sushi, prepared freshdecent prices (for the area)when I went in to get some sushi, the woman (owner? I think) greeted me but not with a smile. She had this sour look on her face and while I waited for my order she kept glaring at me the whole time. It really made me uncomfortable. Sadly, probably won't be going back again. There are other places to get sushi.
Good food & friendly staff. Miso soup & spicy chicken bento for lunch today
Nice sushi place with some interesting rolls. Food and service are consistently pretty good. Especially love the dolsotbap, a huge rice dish in a hot stone bowl.
Expensive Japanese and Korean food, but very worth the cost. The wait is sometimes long during rush hour, but definitely worth the wait. The employees are nice and is very clean. Has good decoration that creates a nice mood!
The service was prompt, and the food was delicious! The Korean Spicy Ramen didn't disappoint, and the Fu-Ki Plum wine made me reminisce of Umeshu in Japan. Highly recommended for anyone seeking good Asian cuisine.
Always a great meal, quiet ambiance and not too busy. Bulgogi is always great, big menu so leave some time to decide.
Origami is one of the fancier, kinda more sophisticated places in Los Alamos. For me, it was love at first sight...I remember the first time I went here. My boss took me out for a lunch, and he wanted to have some sushi. I, personally, never had sushi before, and have never had any Japaneses meals either. It was awesome, such a great first experience!Their staff is amazing: very attentive and caring. The decoration and the serving of meals creates a calming and relaxing atmosphere where you can enjoy your delicious food and forget about your everyday problems. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but if you come during lunch time, get the lunch special which are perfect if you're on a budget.I will be back, guaranteed!
Not bad for los alamos.
Food was very good. Service was slow. It took almost 45 minutes to to get our order. Then it was wrong. I had asked for NO yellow tail. She ordered extra yellow tail.
Went on a snowy Saturday night in December. The Christmas lights and Christmas themed classic truck in front of the restaurant which was decorated and had frosty the snowman as a driver was beautiful as the snow fell lightly. Inside had dimmed lighting which was perfect, with a friendly staff and amazing food as always!
I'm not a huge sushi fan, but I have gone here plenty of times for their delicious non-sushi Korean and Chinese dishes. Truly delicious entree options and there is something for everyone from simple kid's meals to complicated sushi things I don't understand, that are all made to order.
Nice little restaurant in town. Sushi is good. Dinner entrees can sometimes be a little off, but overall we're glad this place is here.
Fresh delicious sushi and a friendly staff!
Lots of food for the money. LARGE pieces of sashimi on a bed of rice. Super friendly sushi chef!!! I haven't had many women sushi chefs but she was great!
Sushi is not good since the new sushi chefs took over.
I loved it! I ate Curry at the place and my friends ordered different food items. Everyone seemed to enjoy the meals served! Fancy but worth it
Affordable Japanese restaurant. Nice ambiance, quite good food. Sushi lunch special is great! Highly recommended.
We have lived here for a year and after deciding that our favorite sushi place was to far away we tried origami!! The service was very friendly not to fast and not to slow. The rolls were beautiful made perfectly! The crunch on the tempura rolls were amazing! Also had shrimp tempura appetizer that came hot, fresh and perfectly made! On the menu everything has a description so you know what you are getting! The owner brought our last roll and asked if everything was alright! Leaving everyone was in smiles and wishing us a good night. Beautiful atmosphere! We will definitely be back!
We like this little place! Service is good and the rolls are both beautiful and delicious. I always get the crunch roll, but tried the dancing eel this time and it is my new favorite way to have eel. The Yokohama sashimi is almost too pretty to eat, but every bit as tasty
I've ate here a few times. Service was good. I had a different kind of order, server and chef nailed it. Place is clean ... including bathroom 😄 Prices were reasonable. Can't complain.
I sat up at the bar and it was so neat to get to see the sushi chef, Sarah, assembling the rolls fresh right in front of us. The miso soup (spelling?) was great, the sushi was delicious, and the green tea tempura ice cream was fabulous. To my surprise, the dessert was plenty enough for three of us! Thank you Origami team! We will be coming back .
Very nice little restaurant! They seem to sometimes be slightly under staffed, but the staff they do have works incredibly hard, and everybody is unbelievably pleasant. If you go, and it seems like it's taking a long time, be patient and courteous. The food is well worth the wait.
Great sushi quality and selection. Their noodles are also great.
Nice ambiance. Great food. Super friendly staff!
Ordered a Dragon Roll for lunch today. Sushi chef noticed that my birthday is tomorrow and made my roll special with the addition of a few small extras after asking my opinions on my personal tastes! The meal was exquisite! Best sushi chef to every serve me a plate. Give the woman 10/5🌟
With generous servings, excellent food, and quality service, I will be regularly returning to Origami.
Food was good, just didn't understand our order correctly.
